Hey guys, I am part of a group at Stanford University. We are thinking about building an App for the iPhone that also talks with the MINI directly. We want to know what you think. Here's the idea:
The Racing App records things like, video forward, acceleration on all three axes, GPS location, time, wheel speed, engine speed, current gear etc. After the track run, you can pull up the recording and watch your performance in detail. There are three 'views', Cockpit View, Bird's Eye View, and Data View.
In Cockpit View, you watch the forward facing video, along with several indicators including current gear, current wheel speed, current engine speed, acceleration plot etc.
In Bird's Eye View, you watch your MINI drive on satellite imagery of where you were, along with the above indicators.
In Data View, you see all data recorded, and can compare in detail your shifts with recorded y-acceleration for example.
Please let me know how this sounds to you. What would you want instead/also?
