Hella ballasts easily connects into the stock 9006 wiring. and come out of a 540i
Philips bulbs are either D2S or D2R.
The bulbs are NOT a direct plug and play.
If used in the Euro lights, you must dremel a larger hole.
If used in the US lights, you can fit the bulb into the whole but you need to use machine screws or epoxy or hi temp silicone to affix the bulbs.

I also have a set of Bosch ballasts and philips bulbs for $375+ shipping.
Same as the Hella, but the ignitor is a seperate unit from the ballast and a bit larger than the Hellas. These come out of an E46 3-series.
Functionally identical.
