Hi all,

I just recently bought a set of 18" sports package OEM wheels (style 189) for my '07 335i coupe. The set is equipped with 18" Bridgestone Potenza RFTs as well. I'm considering this an upgrade since I have 17" wheels with Bridgestone Turanza RFTs now. My question is what can I expect from the Potenza RFTs regarding performance and ride compared to the Turanza RFTs? I've heard Turanzas are bad, but not much as far as the Potenza RFTs.

Also, I'm just going to take the car into a tire center for mounting the new wheels, tires. How much should I expect for the wheels to be mounted?

Thanks!

I find the Potenzas to be great. They are Maximum Performance Tires and the grip they provide is phenomenal. They do get a bit noisier with mileage esp. if you get feathering, but I don't find them intolerable. However they will not last as long as the all season Turanza. Expect no more than 20k miles on the rears that is if you baby them. With a lead foot and some burnouts, some get half of that or less. 15-20k is typical.
Aren't you getting the new tires alread mounted on the new wheels? If so, anyone with a torque wrench and a jack can swap the wheels, just make sure they use the correct torque.

Yeah, the new tires are already mounted on the new wheels.

I'm new to this forum. Why was this thread towed?

Not to be rude or anything, but we do ask new users to read the rules and stickies before posting, makes everyone's life much easier.

Back to topic, since they are mounted, it should be easy to swap as I said previously. Here it costs 40$ to get a specialized shop to do the swap and takes 30 minutes to an hour depending how busy they are. Hope that gives you an idea.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

I understand why it was towed now.
