Another wheel identification thread...

Before I post the picture, this is my first post and I did a search for OEM wheels to try to identify it first but could not. I just bought a 1999 540i and the previous owner spray painted the wheels black. Not only do I dislike the black but I am not a fan of the wheel style. With that said, I could anyone tell me what is on this car?

Your post says the previous owner spray painted the wheels black, but that is not what the photos shows. So is the photo you posted the correct wheel? Did you remove the paint?

If they are the one's shown then they are style 5's as mentioned. They are 17x8" 20mm offset with a 74.1mm centerbore. They are a popular wheel.

The 540i, I purchased came with rims that were spray painted a black matte finish by the previous owner, which looks, IMO, awful. I have to take my car by a recommended wheel guy in Atlanta to first get an estimate as to what it would cost to strip the black paint of my current wheels and have them refinished. If you can direct me to any information on this forum as to how to do that, that would be awesome.

Now back to the picture above. The picture above, is the wheels that I would like to put on my car. Ultimately, I would like to refinish my current wheels, by a pair of the style 5's as shown in the picture above, and then sell my refinished current wheels to offset my incurred costs. I am currently on a business trip. Otherwise, I would take a picture of my car to show you what I am currently dealing with.

Any ideas where to buy style 5's other than here, ebay, and craigslist? I know I can do a search here but this a pretty good thread I've got going so I might as well ask.

Ok,

I was confused, and was under the assumption that you had style 5's that were spray painted matte black.

why don't you post up a picture of YOUR actual wheels and we can go from there.
