I put down 306rwhp and my brother put down 284rwhp in his m coupe.

Yep both are S54 Z4 M Coupe
In terms of engine mods I have:
ESS software
JVT headers
SuperSprint Race Mufflers
AFE Intake
He has:
ESS software
JVT Headers
SuperSprint Race Mufflers
SuperSprint X-Pipe
The guys at Maxium PSI seem to think that since he hasn't driven his car in a month that the adaptations might have caused it to not make full power. My car made 304,304 then 306rwhp on my pulls. His car was 274,278, then 284 0for the three pulls. So it seems the more he redlined the car the more power it made.
EDIT... I forgot to mention that we have been on the track and lined up on the straight away many times and neither car pulls on the other so they seem from that to be making the same power. Maybe something set wrong on the dyno?

That's odd bc the guys at PSI are usually getting good people. Anyways, I've seen similar numbers before on s54's (I've seen like 334whp on s54 with all your mods + cams). The best part is your m-coupe is so light. I bet with your HP and weight.... you could trap ~108mph.

What do I have to gain by over-inflating the numbers on a dyno day with 15+ almost stock cars? It was a good day and we had a nice turnout even with the arctic weather. Here's a screenshot of the weather correction values for the dyno day.

Hey Mike I think I figured out how to dyno the M5. You have to disconnect the wheel speed sensors. The dash will still light up like a Christmas tree but it will keep the car out of limp mode and let it rev all the way.
I can attest to the dyno #'s not being over inflated. Stock M5's make 380-390RWHP, with my mods I should be making 420-430WHP.
I dynoed at 417WHP @ 7400RPM, peak HP I believe is 7900RPM.
No doubt that with 70mph windflow, and hitting 8000RPM that I can put down over 420WHP on your dyno.

Yea if you really have to prove to some guy that thinks the numbers are high, go to another shop....go to ICS they aren't that far from Spartaaaaaaa.
Remember their's is a dynojet and just *might* possibly read even higher than the MaxPSI one.
Every other car's numbers were pretty spot on as far as mods were concerned, I don't see why you give a crap what one single guy says.
Let alone he obviously is the ignorant one if he dares address the great one like that!

That is what I keep trying to tell him... I even posted up one of the pics that shows the turbo teg dyno and how it is super small correction factor. Then he tells me that the only way my car put down 305whp is if the dyno was set up to read like a dyno jet. Which I then in turn told him it wasn't. Then he tries to tell me that if my dyno numbers where uncorrected that means my car would throw down 360whp on a dyno jet. Here is a link to the thread so you can read for your self all the bs he is saying about you and your shop. Maybe you could let him know how wrong he is! I for one was totaly happy with the dyno and the day at your shop and will be back to dyno again with more mods.

Thanks for the help over there guys... I for one didn't want MaxPSI to be thrown under the bus like that. I originally made that post to see if anyobdy could have any ideas as to why his car made so much less whp but then he comes on there and starts calling out all the numbers saying that they have to be hugely corrected because there is no way my car can put down that power blah blah blah. He might have a point in that it might be the battery since it does't seem to want to hold a charge at all. As I said on there the battery will be replaced and the adaptations cleared at the same time. My brothers car has been driven as hard as mine from day one... every track day that I have done he has done (that is usually 2 a month plus autox's in the spring/summer) and we drive mostly the same on the street. The only difference was that his car hs sat has pretty much sat in the garage for the last month and a half.
Although he once did have a 335 I don't think he has it anymore... he now has a HPF Stage 3 and a NA M Coupe but still has that arrogant attitude. He is actually a member on here under the name "O-Cha" I don't know if he is the owner of PSI or is just an employee there.... I think he is the owner though

Basicly I am trying to defend what I thought was a great shop, great guys, and an EXCELLENT dyno operator that he keeps calling ignorant and hinky. I didn't want to see MaxPSI's name slandered like that.
I think the real question is why your car and your brother's car threw down such different numbers on the same day with the same dyno and mods. I was just throwing out a few possibilities why the other car had such a choppy graph up top and lower numbers. I wasn't claiming to be an expert on the Z4 S54 DME. You have a slightly different exhaust configuration and an aftermarket intake, and both of you claimed to have the same software. I said that what is working on your car might not be optimized for the other car. I also mentioned that if the other car was always limped around and driven lightly, it might dyno differently. After you guys told me you both drive like animals I tossed that out the window. It could be fuel, hardware, software, or a number of things. Sure it could be the dyno or the ignorant operator (me), but explain how we ran the cars back to back with the same dyno, weather correction, and dyno settings.
We dyno'd a car on our mustang, made 485whp corrected, and took it over to a local dynojet and it made 515 whp std correction. I don't have anything "adjusted" to read higher numbers. We have a 50lb weight to calibrate the load cell and we input the current pressure, temp, and humidity for the weather correction values.
Also, we can't dyno our own shop cars on our Mustang, they can't put the power down on the small rolls. At low boost my car always dyno's higher on a dynojet compared to our dyno.

Yea there is def something up with his car.... it might be the battery but who knows. With how choppy his graph is it really makes me wonder. My runs are pretty much right on top of each other while his keep gaining power each run. The software is the exact same... the ECUs were sent off to ESS in the same box and flashed with the same software. I just want you to understand that I don't think it was an ignorant operator and thats why I kept trying to defend you in the face of o-cha/blau335's attacks on you. I agree since the cars were run on the same day on the same dyno within half an hour of each other it is def something up with his car and not the operator. I think once the battery is replaced on his car we are going to have to come down an redyno
hey man, my friend with the blue 06 ZCP M3 put down 281whp n 247lbs torque on his second run or maybe it was his first and he got 274 on his second... maximumpsi only did two dyno runs for some reason. i wonder if his third run would be higher. only mods were an air filter in the stock airbox and dixis exhaust. he did get teh ecu flashed by bmw for the O2 sensor fix. he noted that the flash made the engine much smoother than b4.

Also, we can't dyno our own shop cars on our Mustang, they can't put the power down on the small rolls. At low boost my car always dyno's higher on a dynojet compared to our dyno.

Sorry to have mis quoted his numbers... i was going off memory. Although i didn't know what torque he put down. 247tq is pretty impressive!
Well the thread has been closed over at the fest. That is officially my first thread that has eve been closed!:redspot Although blau335 is pretty arrogant he brings of one good point besides the battery. Maybe my bro just got a bad batch of fuel that morning at shell and combine this with a weak battery it might be why his car was so far off mine? Looks like we are going to have to burn the gas off, change the battery, and clear the adaptations just for good measure then re-dyno.
Mike whens the next dyno day so we can see if it makes a difference?
And have photos taken...:redspot
Yes for sure! The shots you got already were great!
since he is a former 335 owner, show him my dyno that was done right after yours, im putting out exactly what i should be with my mods on a Mustang.. should end the discussion..
Ha that would have been a really good point to bring up and I would have loved to see his response to that but as I said the thread got closed

Honestly... those shots all SUCKED, they were in low light, all hand held and using iso like 1600 or something.
Whenever the next day is though, I will attend, hopefully my jacket airs out by then :(

Hey Howie,
I was actually at 236 TQ... I have no TQ, haven't had a chance to scan the dyno sheet.
I'm sad to see all this bickering after MaxPsi put on the dyno day for everyone. I'm sure Mike didn't fool with the numbers, so drop it.
Ok 99% of 335 owners have that attitude... not all of them and thus you are probably in the 1%.
This is true. I would like to believe I'm in that 1% as well. I think those that have/had boosted E36s understand that the N54 isn't as fast as that crew is making it out to be..

.
There has been no bickering at all on this forum. Nobody on here was questioning the numbers at all... the only person that seemed to not believe the dyno numbers was the owner of PSI in Flordia. Who when I posted up my dyno results over on bimmerfest said there no way my car could put down those numbers. Then he proceeded to call Mike ignorant and say he was screwing with his dyno to make it read high. All of us on here know that is FAR from the truth and as Mike pointed out what would that have gained him? Mike didn't do anything except put on a great day for all of us. All I have been trying to do is defend Mike and Max PSI against the attacks from PSI Florida

It's all good! We will have another dyno day here in a few weeks and I'll be sure to turn down the dynojet correction factor knob to keep everyone happy :shifty

Sign me up! I am putting on my Turner Power Pulleys to see what kind of difference that makes.
Can we turn the correction factor up on the dynojet knob? Cause I need more power! I am hoping for some where near 600whp!:redspot

Interested in seeing what pulleys do on that motor, I have seen many mixed opinions but practically no real world results.
