Ive got a 91 525i. I tried installing a set of 17x9 wheels on it and failed up front when the wheels hit the front strut. Got spacers but the spacers were faulty and I gave up. Now I want to get a set of new ACS type 2 replicas in 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 back for a nice stance. My questions is what offset do they need to be front and back so I dont need to use any spacers??

so this guy has 17"x8" et20 Style 5s...running 18mm spacers all around and he says he rubs in the back
if you want to get the same fitment...on 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 wheels...
Let's start with the front:
4*25.4-20 = 81.6
81.6 + 18 = 99.6
4.25*25.4 = 107.6
107.6-99.6 = 8mm
this means you need et8 offset in the front to achieve the same.
for the rear..
4.75*25.4 = 120.6
120.6-99.6= 21mm
so this means you need a et21 offset in the rear, but that owner said he rubs in the back and wants to reduce the spacer to 10-15mm which would mean...you'd need a higher offset in the rear to about...et26 to et31.
I'm not a rim guru or anything...
CLIFFS:
-ET8 in front
-ET26 to ET31 in rear
What tires you run may or may not cause you to rub your fender liners/fenders.

Hey thanks alot bro..the front would be a pretty aggressive offset..didnt expect that lol. Tires wise Im thinking of running 245 35s in the back and 225 45s up front..donno yet..I have to consult me tire guy.

We recommend a 20mm offset with the 9" wide rear wheels. The tires would need to around 245/40R18 on the rear.
If I can help let me know.
