I just found another mystery wire!

I was going to reset the oil and inspection light indicator. For some reason, the tool would not fit the 20 PIN connector. Under closer examination, PIN 13 has a red/white wire jammed into it. I unplugged the wire and the car started and iidled the same. No start CEL lights.

So what fuction of the car is controlled by PIN 13?

Just so you know, pin 7 and pin 19 is for reseting the oil service and inspection lights. With ignition on, short pin7 and pin19 with a piece of cable, 3sec for oil service or 12secs for inspection.
You do not need a tool to reset the lights, just a piece of cable :)

However, i do not know what pin 13 is for, all i can say though is that the 20 pin connector is just for diagnostic readings and resets, and nothing for controlling the car really.

You are right, the 20 pin plug is a data link connector and it appears Pin 13 is not occupied.

Thanks for the replies and link guys. I'm going to double check the PIN tomorrow. I may have the wrong one.

Yes, I did make a mistake. It is PIN #1. According to the link a fellow member posted, it is TD Connector. Why would someone run a separate wire to this PIN?
