is the flywheel reference pin for the motronic 1.0 a magnet or just a pice of metal?
I ask because I want to put an aluminum flywheel on my car, but I am running the motronic 1.0 which needs a flywheel reference pin, and the aluminum one does not have one. If it is a magnet, or just a raised piece of metal, I can make it work. I just need to know what to plan for. Going from a 22 lbs flywheel to a 12 lbs flywheel on my B35 swapped car.

Why are you running m1.0 on a b35? I think all the effort of trying to figure out flywheel reference sensors would be better spent getting a m1.3 harness and ECU.

M1.3 is superior in every way. The cost involved in the swap is not much and then you won't need a flywheel reference pin. If you are doing a 12 lb flywheel and other perofrmance mods, you should have m1.3 to maximize your potential anyway.

To answer your question, it's metal, not magnetic. To pose another question, why 1.0? The guy who said go 1.3 is totally right.

i keep hearing "go 1.3 it's better" but no one says why it's better. I already have the car running with the 1.0. I also have a chip in it for the 1.0.

So to change to 1.3 I woudl need:
new harness
new ECU
Another chip
lots of wiring

I understand it sounds good to tell someone to "just change it top 1.3" but there are more cost associated with it and I am trying tu justify fixing something that isn't broken, right?

SO my question is, what are the improvements of 1.3 over 1.0?

Not trying to be an ass, just trying to get better information.
