Free Tires on Existing BMW 330 xi

Greetings:


I am the proud owner of a 2006 BMW 330 xi (E90) which currently has RFT tires 225/45R17. I want to replace them with regular tires and have an opportunity for a set of FREE tires, P275/40Z R 17. Will they work?

Does this mean your giving away your old tires? And 275 seems verywide, I doubt it would work, but then again I know nothing about e90's.
