Hi all - I purchased a 1995 318is a few months ago and have been tinkering around with it since. It is pretty much stock, not lowered or anything like that.

My latest purchase for it was a set of four ROH Reflex 7JJx15's for it. I bought them thinking that they would fit, but after taking them to a Tires Plus here in Oklahoma, they told me that they didn't fit. You'll have to excuse my lack of the proper terms, but I'd like to describe the problem that Tires Plus told me I had with these wheels fitting on the car. I took some pictures to help describe the problem.

When the tires were taken off of my stock rims and wrapped around these, there were no problems. (I've got Yokohama Avids on all four corners.)

However, when it came time to mount them on the car, it seems as if the diameter of the center (where the hub assembly fits in) of the wheel was too small to fit over the hub. I probably used wrong terms there, so here's some pictures to help out.

When I got the wheels home, I noticed that it looks as if there has been some sort of band installed on the inside of this area. Here's a picture.

It almost looks as if something has been added inside there in order for it to fit a certain type of hub. There are two lips down near the center caps. Does this mean there is some sort of added something in the wheel? See the picture below.

So my question is this:

Is this normal? Should this be there? If so, why doesn't it fit my e36? Am I mistaken in believing that JJx15 should fit my car? :help

If the band was added after the matter, is there a way that I could remove it without compromising the integrity of the rim?

Thank you all in advance for your help! Let me know if I can provide any other details to make this easier. :)
