1) Is an oil return pump necessary when installing a lower mount turbo? Is it because of where the manifold places the turbo too low?
2)If someone had the means to build their own manifold, is it possible to arch the runners up an inch or so thereby raising the turbo mount flange enough not to need a scavange pump?

1) SPA manifolds usually don't require pumps. ebay and 666 fabrication manifolds usually do. I'm not sure about others (cartech, AA, etc). It's because gravity drains need the turbo to be far above the oil line.
2) yes

OK then,
1) I am familar with gravity draining, what is the min length of hose/tube needed for adiquite drainage?
2) How high does the SPA manifold place the turbo flange in reference to the HG?
3) Is there enough clearance from the sidewall to really raise the flange and still fit a worth while turbo(T4 hotside)?
