My friend is parting out his car and is going to hook me up with his brembo 12.6 big brake kit. I remember him saying the kit was off a lotus. My question is, will I be able to use them on my m3? The kit on the internet shows that its for e36/e46/z3, but are they interchangeable with one another. Also will i need spacers if im running the stock 17in staggered 10 spokes?

I don't know if the E36 m3 shares the same suspension geometry and king-pins with the normal E36, but on the E46 the M3 brake parts are not interchangeable with the regular E46es. I think the Brembo kits are universal though, and all you will need is a caliper bracket designed specifically for your application (E36 M3).

lots of spacer more than 15mm i have the stoptech kit and the 10 spokes and have basicly given up on them after trying 15mm spacers and it wasent even close to fitting. On the 10 spokes there is an inside bulge that runs along the entire circumfrance of the wheel that makes it very tight in addition to the inward sloping spokes. Good luck if you decide to keep your stock wheels.

does brembo sell caliper brakets that are made specifically for the e36 m3 separately? also how much do they cost approx? where would be the best place in so cal that would be knowledgable about brembo brake fitment issues? Engineeredblur, what size brake kit did u try to fit with the stocks? the kit im trying to use is 12.6 so fitment shouldnt be too bad. I think the stoptech ones you are using are a bit bigger.

Im using the 332mm size which if factory e46 m3 brake size. In LA there is a shop called TRS, you can check their website www.trsracing.com but they are authorized dealers for brembo also and where i got my stoptech's from.
