So, would you guys think I was crazy if I wanted to trade my e34 540i w 200k miles for an e30. This is the first e34 I've owned and have had it for the past 2 years, but can't get rid of the itch for another e30 5sp. I absolutely love em. I would have to find one with 5lug for my style 5s n maybe rig up , but am seriously thinking of it. The itch just won't go away.

Nope, thats what I did. I honestly wouldn't bother looking for a 5 lug car though. They are either going to be a.) ridiculously over-priced if they are e30 m3 5 lug b.) rigged together e36/Ti 5 lug setups with barely in spec caster. But yeah, if you are looking for a car that is more fun, e30 hands down. Although I do admit I miss the heated seats and size of the e34 at times.

Firstly, +1 on the rigged together Ti/e36 5 lug set-up, this always was a little questionable in my opinion but then again maybe the example I drove was a bit sketchy and thrown together on a more than tight budget. I have had many e30s and many e34s and no contest LOVE the e34 as a daily driver. However, the e30 (below) i have been daily driving is an 85 grey market 323i and I must say that no car is more fun to drive than an e30. They're simply amazing. I do enjoy both but if I were forced to chose one without a doubt it would be an e34. :D

I've been thinking somewhat the same.. buy a E30 on the side and use it as a dd while Dirty D takes a hiatus.... Keep the E34 and source a E30 for a good deal.. just my .02....

Sounds like a plan. My e34 is an auto and I just miss the handling of the e30. I do however enjoy the auto some times, It makes it much simpler to drive. I love both cars and will probably look for a cheap e30 to start working on.

Pretty much the same way I feel. I could go for one of these.

this^^^

I found a one owner '87 325i white/black 4dr 5 speed for my son for $400 'cause it needed a DME ($40) and a trans ($120). We got it mechanically sound and drove it around the block...I love it! What a fun little car. Yeah it's cramped for me, but it has that nimble feeling the e34 doesn't have.

why trade? Just get an E30 if you need to get rid of your itch. It's not like E34 or E30 worth a lot nowadays

...What a fun little car. Yeah it's cramped for me, but it has that nimble feeling the e34 doesn't have. It has a tiny interior but you feel as one with the car. I was wondering what all the m5 owners was whining around how they'd love to have e30 again(at that time I had e30) now I know what they was talking about :( e34 is comfy, spacious and all but in e30 I had a feel that I am one with the car, in e34 I am driving IN it :confused

I'll prob just keep my car since I've got lowtechs coming sometime in the far future and just got some style 5s. Maybe when I get my degree finished I'll pick up a 2002 and really have fun.
