I really only trust this subforum, so bear with the non-FI question if you will.

I have been getting some minor/occasional vibration when cruising. It has been getting slightly more noticeable over the past month. Yesterday, I pushed it hard in second and got a few big thumps from the center/rear of the car. I suspect it is the center support bearing, as there is no vibration when taking off or lifting load as with a Guibo going bad.

A visual inspection does not reveal the problem. Before I buy parts (Guibo/Bearing/e46 m3 Trans mounts), is there anything in the diff/support that I should check?

Thanks

I had a very similar problem and it turned to be a broken tranny support bracket. It broke due to worn out motor mounts. I chased that problem for almost 1.5 years.

I will check that out, as well. Thanks.

My money is on CSB. Slide under the car if you can and try to move the driveshaft about. I doubt a 2nd gear roll would cause diff bolt breakage.
