figured I'd post these here, not mine, but look like some reasonably cheap parts cars
Is this one a euro?

The first is, yes. <1982 Euro 635. If I were in the area I'd scope that one out--could have potential.

That first one is a no brainer . I know there has got to be a good number of 6er enthusiasts in Texas with a grand to burn. Chump change for a lifetime of fun. Hell, you can't even buy wheels for a grand nowadays.

I've already called and sent an email about the first one. No response yet.....

The first one is a very tempting deal. If I only had a trailer and extra room...
Being post 1982, it wouldn't have the M90, but it could still have the dogleg.

That first one is clearly an E12 based car so it will definitely have the M90 if it hasn't been replaced with something else. Dogleg was optional but the M90 is a given.

The M90 is the higher-compression M30 used in the Euro-spec '78-'81. BMW changed their engine-naming schema sometime in the early '80s, hence the seeming disconnect between "M90" and "M30." It's also the reason the M88/3 and S38B35 are so different nomenclature-wise despite their design similarity.

damn, too bad i really, really, really don't have the space. my experience with my highline has been that i don't want the extra tech goodies. an e12 6er with euro bumpers might have been a better choice for me...

The big difference is that the B34 has a 92mm bore and 86mm stroke and the M90 has a 93.355mm bore and 84mm stroke. There's a lot of cool info on the M90 but I don't have time to write all of it out (at work:) ) but the 6 series enthusiasts companion book has pretty much everything you would ever want to know about it.

Ah..my eyes fell asleep...no ribbing on the back makes it an E12 (right?).
I thought I caught the E28 euro rear bumper, but haps maybe not.

Yep, you can see the tall side trim on the sides of the bumper in one of the shots and I don't think that rear spoiler was ever used on an E28 based car. The front spoiler is a good give away too since it doesn't have foglight holes.
I called but got voice mail... I've got a friend in the area who can check it out.

I agree that it is an e12 chassis but there was a transition period where the first e28 chassis cars had the front spoiler without the foglight cutouts. And I think the flat rear spoiler with the roundell mounted on it was not used for the last of the e12 models (not positive about this).

LOL this guy has probably had a lot of calls simply from this thread.
he responded to my email, said the car wouldn't be sold until next Wednesday. A little rust around the sunroof, but otherwise good.

anyone here back from this guy? if you're interested in coming to town to take a look, apparently now is e24 selling season - there are 8 of them on craigslist in houston, 7 of which have been posted in the past week. most interesting besides the euro are a black and tan '89 auto, 2.9k, and an '83 630 5 speed, 2.8k

I haven't heard anything back. did anyone buy either of these cars?

-MattAlso a different bore and stroke. My 80 Euro shares the same block and Bore & Stroke with my 87 M6. 93.4 x 84 for 3453 ccm while the later 635's have 92 x 86 for 3430 ccm.
