Since updating to a Turbo/Supercharger setup, have you guys done anyting extra regarding cooling (water/oil).

I'm still running the OEM setup, engine driven fan on a stock radiator, and the stock Oil cooler in place. Never had any heat issues yet.

I'm thinking of ditching the OEM radiator fan and going for an electric one, maybe even on both sides of the radiator.

Keep the engine driven fan.

It moves a TON of air...more than most electric fans available(perhaps the electric off a non-M E46 moves as much or more?).

I'm running a larger capacity, double pass-through radiator. Also have a SPAL fan (in place of stock), Stewart water pump and lower temp thermostat.

+1 - keep the stock fan. Some of the old ones can take as much as 15hp to drive. Where are you going to find a 15hp electric thermofan?

The modern fans prolly only take half that hp, but my point is still true.

I added a oil cooler to my SC.

Stock mechanical fan, Fluidyne Radiator, Stewart water pump, 80* thermostat, SPAL pusher for me, and so far been great. I have a VPD oil cooler cap with lines and oil thermostat in the garage, just need a oil cooler. I'll eventually get around to installing it, but so far would seem to be overkill.

Keep the mechanical fan!!!

I have: New oem rad, lower temp stat, lower temp aux fan switch, new metal impeler water pump, 2 bottles of water wetter, and spal 16" thin fan.

I need:
euro oil cooler set up.
maybe larger capacity rad?

I think the better question to ask is, who has a stock cooling system and found it inadequate on a boosted motor? What did you do to fix it??

I find it curious that ppl think the mechanical fan is better. I personally think that an electic fan is a better concept; more cfms at low speed when you need it, less hp loss up top when you dont need cfms from the fan.

FWIW, I have:
Steart pump
oem rad
larger Spal fan
low temp therm
two bottles of water wetter.
