Opinions on Hankook Ventus R-S2's

The reviews on TireRack are 90% good. One of the few bad reviews was from an E36 owner who said they are rubbish. I'd like another set of Star Specs, but the R-52's are significantly cheaper. Goes without saying that the Star Specs are better, but are the R-52's good enough for 5-6 HPDE's a year and mostly sunny street driving?

EDIT: Stupid question; they're not even for sale anymore. Star Specs it is.
