760 winter tires and rims

I have a 2004 760 li and was wondering if I can put my buddies factory winters off his 540....They are 17 inch and I was just wondering if the bolt pattern is the same and if they will clear the calipers?

I'm not exactly a "wheel expert", but when I wanted to lower my e39 and put larger rims on it, my guy in the shop told me that I'd have to roll my fenders out...this was because on turns, with a set of wheels not made for the car (exactly) I'd end up rubbing my tires on the underside of the car/fender. :(
