weak suspension

my 530 is riding a little low in the rear, and I had the trunk loaded pretty full last weekend and it was only about 1.5" or so from the wheel well, with no lowered springs. Do I need to replace my springs, shocks, both, or something else? And in the process are there any other parts I should replace?

I'm also not sure whether I should go for sport or heavy duty; I don't plan on lowering the car (unless I have to replace the springs, then I might just do it for the hell of it), so can I run sport shocks on oem springs, or if I need to go for performance springs too?

I have the same car and experienced the same problem. I was told is shot shocks but I also suspect tired springs. I will probably tackle this next spring when the weather is warmer (I have to work outside!) and I'm thinking about going with the Bilsteins Twin Tube and I might look for some Motosports springs or ones with a minimal drop since this is my family car and carries 4 family members.
