As seen at www.bmwsharkfest.org:

Southeast Sharkfest 2010 Update: Due to issues arising from lack of support from a local CCA chapter, the release of the Southeast Sharkfest 2010 Website, as well as specific information will not be available until mid-to-late December. We are currently exploring a workaround to this issue, but are uncertain of the outcome at this time. For your planning purposes, the scheduled date for Southeast Sharkfest 2010 is still the weekend of April 30th, 2010, beginning on Friday morning. This date is set and will not change. Rest assured, Southeast Sharkfest 2010 WILL take place, however the locale is, at this juncture, TBD.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to call Kai at (305) 409-8772 or email him at sharkedm6@gmail.com!

I must say, the organizers of this event choose very poor dates, at least for Shark owners still in college.

I thought so too for the first one i went to. A week before finals. But hey, i still went and I graduated a year later!

Then, last year, SESF was the weekend after I graduated. That was a good graduation trip!

This year, it looks as though its a week before PSU finals, and 2 weeks before graduation. That means I wont miss any of the 'commencement' activities that happen during those times!

Reading between the lines here, if Savannah doesn't look like it'll work out, I'm totally ok with having it in the Winston-Salem area again or nearby. The last 2 years went very smooth.

Winston-Salem's good for me too :D Clemmons Kitchen, anyone? The grocery store next to the restaurant went out of business so the huge empty parking lot would make a great photo op.

I ate breakfast there with my then-girlfriend the morning of the day I got engaged. Drove to Tanglewood Park afterward and proposed. So you could say the restaurant's got a...certain appeal. :D

Well, for all of you folks who miss Goose Pond, so do we. Unfortunately it's not there anymore; a serious storm with some serious tornadoes and flooding completely leveled the area. :( I wanted to make a return there, especially since we had so much support, however it was not to be. If they ever rebuild, we will be a good opening for them.

Do not lose all hope for our planned venue this year. We are trying to work around to make this a regional event with the CCA, in which case we don't need the support of the local chapter to make it happen. Another nearby chapter may be able to help as well as the SCCA for the driving event we are planning. Stay tuned... you never know what may come of this - I look forward to working with CCA national in making this years' event fantastic. I guarantee you, if we can get it going you will NOT want to miss it.

If you want to have it in AL again I can probably arrange something. I know I can talk the local chapter into it and if we do it where I live I can talk the Major into something. I live about 10 miles from the Talladega Super Speedway so there are all kinds of rooms because of the yearly Nascar events. I am just throwing it out there.

I would appreciate something closer than Winston-Salem. GA or AL would be great. Western TN would also be great.

I'll keep that in mind if everything falls apart. I have too much invested into this years location to drop everything just yet. I will know within the next two weeks...

I spoke with my wife about this and we may actually try to attend. It would be a helluva long drive but what could be more fun than spending 2 weeks driving the car you love, through the country you love with the one you love? It would be down right... Lovely.

Chattanooga or Knoxville TN aren't that far from the Dragon...

So long as my e24 is running by then, I fully intend on being there.

Ok folks, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. lol. We have put a crap-ton of planning into this years' intended location and unless everything completely falls apart (knock wood), I'm hoping to not be looking for another location.

We've discussed TOD in the past, however due to insurance related issues, we can never actually hold our event at the Dragon. IF (god forbid) something were ever to happen, it would be the end of our event, as well as any event like ours (wait, are there any others like ours....???) for a good long time.

To give everyone a heads up, the place we're looking at right now is in Georgia. It's going to be closer to some, and further away from some, but rest assured it will be totally worth it, regardless. Let's hope everything comes together like I planned. Stay tuned - I promise, if/when something transpires, you will know. Thanks for all your input and patience folks... I really love our community; it's a shame we're not being supported right now.

Vinnie Van Go-Go's pizza. :redspot It would be worth the drive even if there were no sharkfest.

The TOD would be frankly ridiculous. There are thousands of equivilent places that are much less well known. I wouldn't bother going alone, much less in a group, just because of the extreme popularity.
