I am needing to get at my HVAC panel and I just learned something.
I buy a lot of used parts from Ebay seller in Van Nuys California.
Anyway, I have a spare HVAC panel here. I have read up on old posts about
the difficulty of getting the panel out and not busting the flimsy slider
levers.
Sitting on my easy chair in my warm house I just discovered this:
To remove the HVAC panel with little to no fuss, behind the blank defrost
plug next to the rotary temp selector are 2 phillips screws.
Remove those and proceed to the right side of the panel.
Behind the blower rotary knob are 2 more phillips screws. Remove those
along with the slider knobs and the panel pulls away from the dash.
It looks like the slider levers will stay put and open up the dash for
much easier repairs.
