at least he started from what looks to be a pretty beat up car. if it wasn't for him it prolly would of rotted away in a junkyard till they finally crushed it...

It's not like we are cutting down trees for paper here Ship and he likely had not seen it previously...it is a sight to behold for the first timer?
Cheers!

RanTrue, true, but it means we need to see hideous again and again. I' don't know if it is a good or bad thing that BTTF chose the 6'er to future-up. She is as ugly as sin though.

Personally I think its brilliant, and I'm glad this bloke has gone to so much effort to put this movie car back together. Given that Back to the Future was a pretty successful film in its day, and everyone associates that film with how it 'futurised' the Delorean, I thought it was pretty cool that the filmmakers chose to stick a 6 Series in the background for those of us with eagle eyes to spot.
I remember when I saw the movie way back then, I was stoked to see they'd included a Sixer. There's a lot of stuff going on in the background in those films, and this was something I never expected to see.
Its not like he's restoring it because he's a fan of 6ers, its not even driveable or steerable with those wheel covers, he's restoring it as a show car because he likes the film. Yes its garish in colour and style, but that's what that part of the movie was trying to represent. No-one demands the hoverboard be crushed just because its pink!
Its no secret that convertible E24s generally look pretty crap, but this one pulls off the convertible look better than most.

Actully, it is drivable with the wheelcovers. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNwi3c457zU&feature=player_embedded

don't take it personally. It's just that to many here, that car is so awful that it is taken as a personal insult every time it is brought up...
Here's how to redeem yourself:

For some reason, this can be posted over and over, and no one will complain.....

490hp and only raced twice. It so dominated the Australian Touring Car racing season in those two races that CAMS (Confederation of Australian Motor Sport) banned it and moved the class from Group C to Group A. The twin cam M6 M88 engine was repalced with a B34 engine. For those of you with a bit of spare cash I know where one of the 1983 490hp spare engines is, for a mear $10k it's up for or so I have heard.

if my m88 ever grenades, i will look you up. 10k is still cheaper than a rebuild, most likely.
