I have done searches on this and i have found patches or pockets of answers that i am lookin for, but most of the threads are old and the answers i am lookin for are more specific, so i decided to creat a new thread. Well my situation now is that i just got my car lowered with FK shocks and springs. Before with the stock set up and my 18x8.5 ACS type 2 and 235/40/18 all around there was no rubbing at all, but with the new susp i am rubbing like crazy and lately it has been more since the springs are now breakin in a little bit more. Now i have heard of tools and things for this from tirerack and other people, but i dont have the time to wait, since basically i cant drive my car period unless i want my tires to rub my fenders. I have also heard of people using bats or hammers to push out the fender a little bit? I dont know how you do that tho and how you position things and how you do it so you dont screw up your paint job or have uneven fender rolling. And my last question for now is does pep boy rent out the fender rolling tools, i'll have to call them up, but i figure i ask here before i call them up in case. Thanks

there are ppl who have done the baseball method but as u know Murphy's law will always come to bite u in the a$$. tirerack rents the fender rolling tool that comes with a heat gun so that the paint does not crack. The BAD news is that the wait list for the tool is upto 6 months, one of my buddies got on the list in May and the tool is expected to be here in 10 days. If u cant wait u can find an independent shop who will do it, not sure abt the price tho'. did u check out the regional forums to see if sum1 has the tool that u cud borrow.

yea, i posted it in the regional forums and no one has replied yet. Thing is i dont know how the bat thing works...you fit the whole bat in there or something? And yea like cant wait for the tool from tirerack, i have been lookin around my area too, but i am always trying to find some place closer cause i dont want to drive there with my fedners rubbing my tires and get there and they cant do it. Thanks for the info tho. The price is usually like 50 each side right?

If you've never done it before, it might be easier to call around. I'm sure someone reputable would give you a good deal. It can't take too much time.

this is what a fellow bimmer owner had told me when i was planning to roll fenders.
---------------

If its rubbing only a little mild hammering of the rear fender lip. You're only "hammering" the inside metal hem -this will NOT alter the exterior lines of the car. Reach up and feel the wheel well hem - you'll feel a gap of about 1/2 inch that can be flattered. "Rolling your fender" is not what really happens.
-------------------

use this info at ur own risk.

And i'll be sure to write a reveiw about the shocks once i get to drive my car hard since the fenders are rubbing agianst the tires right now ;)

im still thinkin if i should take it to a body shop or not? BTW are you going to be sending a heat gun with that khy? Also one more question about this fender rolling thing...when i roll it, will only the lip come out? Cause right now that isnt the problem, the problem is that the corners of the tires are hitting the upper wall of the fender lining inside, which is app 2 inches above the lip. Will fender rolling fix this? thanks

I had a wheel shop roll the fenders on my M3 (18's and race springs, no rubbing). It only cost me like $50. I would just have a shop do it, call around and get some prices. I just wouldnt risk cracking the paint by doing it myself, but that's me.
