Hi guys,

So my friend is selling me his CSL reps with tires off his E46 330i.
I have a E36 328is lowered on dinan stage two springs so I believe the drop is 1.2 in fronts and 1.5 in rears on stock shocks/struts (Sachs)

His CSL reps are staggered on 18in.
Fronts: 225/40-18 et40
Rears: 255/35-18 et??

Offset in front is 40 but I do not know about the rears. Could be also 40? As for the E46 M3 offset in rears are too aggressive and are 22.

I definitely know the fronts will fit but will the rears fit without any modifications and fender rolling?
Will it rub my inner fender or rub anything else?

Please help me out, I buy his rims and tires tomorrow or the day after.
Thanks!

Your information is a bit misleading, you say Dinan S2 springs, stock suspension. Do you mean stock shocks/struts? For starters, your shocks will not last long. On to your actual question. I have run 18" wheels et40 with 245/35 all for corners and the rear right would rub on occasion with no passengers or on a regular basis with just my g/f in the car and she only weighs in at 120lbs. I have Bilstein sports with H&R Springs, which lower the car 1.5" / 1", but maintain a very firm and controlled ride.

I do understand my shocks/struts will not last long, as for I didn't have enough money to buy shocks/struts when I got the springs but the shocks/struts will soon be replaced with bilstein.
So according to what you said, I would be rubbing in the rears with 255/35-18?

Sorry if I sounded apprehensive. Yes, most likely you will rub with out rolling the fenders. But, they should fit provided you roll the fenders or go to a narrower tire.

I am very new with this tire and rim stuff but if I do not roll my fender and drive to school with the tires rubbing which is only a mile away and cruising at 40mph?
I should be fine until I get my fenders rolled next weekend?
And also, driving to get my fender rolled on the highway at 65mph to get my fenders rolled at a shop, will the tires rub like hell or should I be fine as for I do not have an extra set of rims/tires.
Sorry for these novice questions.

Btw, your e36 in your sig looks pretty hawt =]

test fit, drive your car on whatever is on it now to the shop w/ new rims in the trunk/back seat, and have the shop roll/pull and re-test fit until correct fitment is made..

why would you mess up a set of tires if you didnt have to?

...also, fender rolling shouldn't be that expensive.

^ what he said...wait a week, roll their on what you have, test fit, figure out how much fender roll you need and get 'er done the right way, the first time. ;)

I would definatily do that but I just sold my rims and tires for a really good price and my car is sitting on jackstands all around.
I do not know what other options I have left, I guess I do have to get my tires rubbed a little by driving to the shop right?
I have no other set of rims and tires neither do my friends.
What do you guys think?

i would find some stocks or something to roll on...

shouldnt have sold yours before you had all your ducks in a row.
if it rubs too bad, it could wear out your side wall and blow out.

I see.
If it doesn't rub to bad, I should be good to roll on right.
Man, this is hard...I don't want to buy stockies cause they are at least like $200 and hard to sell back...

I do not have enough money to buy some rear stockies to roll to the shop though.
Haven't found anyone doing moble fender roll here tho...

Pull the spare and backseat bench to reduce weight.

I already took out my spare, would it really differ by that much and not rub the tires or is it just to reduce the rubbing?

tow it to the shop w/ your new rims on it... (on a roll back) to reduce any chance of making anymore f'ups... even that will be cheaper than buying stocks..

Just post an add on craigslist for a WTB, your crappy steelies... just find some crap that someone would give you to take off their hands. I have a extra set of crap tires that I'd let you borrow, and not worry if you didn't return, I don't live near you, but I'm not sure it would be too hard to find within driving distance. And as far as the crap tires go, it doesn't matter if it rubs.

I would never consider putting tires on that rubbed if I wanted to keep them. Even a little is too much.
