Help with removing sunroof motor

i'm getting ready to install umnitza's one touch sunroof close mod, and it looks like the purple wire with the red stripe is too far back in there, so i want to remove the sunroof motor.

it looks like it is held in place with 3 torx screws, but am i going to have any nasty surprises when i remove it? can i take it out and put it back in without worrying about aligning anything and all that?

Forget the infamous purple/red wire that can't be seen or found. Just tap the purple/white wire that goes to the overhead lighting. That seems to work at the present moment on my friends 99M3.

No surprises taking out the motor if you still need to go that route. Just take note of which screw came from which hole, they are three different lengths.
