hey guys i have a 98 740il, the car recently started to idle very rough, check engine light is on, and i am getting a misfire codes on all four cylinders on one side. just changed the osv valve and the intake gaskets but the problem did not go away. i should also mention that there was oil in the spark plugs. Any idea as to what the problem could be? the oil was cleaned up when the gaskets were replaced this was done yesterday havent checked yet to see if it came back. either way after changed gaskets, osv valve, and cleaning the oil up nothing changed the car still idles rough and gave out the codes.

Did you replace the valve cover gaskets then? Thats what leaks oil into the plugs.

This WILL cause misfires. Take them out and clean them up good. Might need new rubber booties for the plugs, if they are deteriorated that badly.

You also will need to clear the codes out, or they will be there again.

did you connect the ground cable back to a coil when installing it back?

As Ice said did you remove all the oil and cleaned the boots?
