Do Euro M3 headers make as much power as other companies headers (supersprint, hiop) for an e36?

first of all i was just playing around and trying to get a rise out of someone, and I do most likely know more than you do, but I don't wanna get in an immature arguement so please don't post again. It seems like you're pretty insecure about this subject just blowing up like that. Do you have some unresolved childhood issues? Get lost.

First of all, so was I. If you've read my posts before, I'm not an a$$ and I wasn't trying to be one. I rather not start pissing contest either...

But I'll answer your question, NO, don't get headers...waste of money. GL.

I edited my first post with smiley...:)

Seriously though, here's my overall analysis on E36 M3 headers(Euro or aftermarket). I purchased my HIOP headers almost 8 months ago. The design and airflow characteristics were rather optimal for what seemed to be the perfect design.

First, the install was THE biggest PITA I've ever done to my car. It took my cousin and I about 6 hours to install them on my car, motor still mounted in. That damn gasket is bitch to get aligned correctly figgeting with it undernearth the car. The bolts/studs must be correctly aligned along with the gasket, which is the most difficult part of the install.

Gains, not much. Noticeable?...yes. Worth it?...no. Torque factor was probably my biggest concern when installing headers and although I didn't lose anything, I didn't gain any either. I'd say all in all, I gained about 6 or 7rwhp, if that. The pull from 5G-redline is realized, and if you know your car well, you'll notice the "extra" pull, especially on the beltway. For instance, do a 65mph-100 run without headers, then do it with headers...I gurantee you'll see what I mean by "extra". So, yes, you gain somewhat, but not incredible. Also depends what year M3 you have...I personally wouldn't change a 96+ M3 header with anything...they flow well enough for an NA car. If you wanna put a blower on it, then that's a different story.

Which brings me to my other point...IMO, headers are only critical if you have a FI M3 or BMW for that matter.

Conclusion,
If you have the money and time, why not. Power is power and nowadays, it could mean a win or lose in competition(I don't mean street racing pre se, racing in general).

If you don't, say your money and spend it elsewhere, then when the times right and the money's there, go for it. GL. Sorry for the long post...but that's my opinion on headers for the E36 M3.

Then headers would benefit much more...unless you're getting a turbo, then you can't do aftermarket headers like HIOP and the like.

i'm either gonna go with a dinan or AA supercharger. Turbo's are too much in the problem arena for me. I'm doing a complete custom exhaust right now, and I just figured I might as well do the headers while i'm spending all that money on exhaust. IMO getting it done all at once is bliss.

Amen to that.

Hey man,
I'd PM one of the moderators and tell them to move this to the E36 M3 forum, or you can cross post it there, you'll probably get a lot more responses there than here. I'm gonna get out of here, GL again...
