I have a 2002 MCS and am considering getting the Aero kit. Called a couple of dealers and still waiting for them to get back with me. Anyone know the total cost of the purchase, install and paint?

Depends on the dealer and the paint shop.

I think anyone can not tell the actual price of this. Better you find a the showrooms or on the several websites and select according to your wish.

I'm having as much fun getting an answer from any of the dealers I've contacted. Guess I'll have to actually drive to one.

Why on earth would you want the dealer to paint and install a body kit? Unless you like being overcharged, and getting crappy work done?

Buy the kit from the dealer, use your BMW CCA discount (you are a member of the BMW CCA aren't you?) and then have a good body shop paint and install the kit.

I already have a used kit in the lighter silver than my car. I was trying to find out, given the estimates I've gotten just to repaint the kit I have ($800-$1k+) by independent shops, if it would make sense to buy a new kit and have the dealer paint it. If I can get that done through a dealer vs. spend $1500 via an independent shop, I'd probably go through the dealer. That's why I'm asking the question, to weigh my options. Unfortunately I've gotten more opinions than actual info. I've also had three dealerships not get back to me with the info I requested. I'm just asking if people with experience on this issue can give me a ballpark idea since the dealers won't, short of me going there (they're all at least 40 miles away).

As far as good body shops go, that's a pretty sore subject with me. I can tell you of several bad ones I've had experience with over the years. It's too cold to do the work myself in my garage and this area has more than it's share of shops willing to to halfassed worked.
