Older CL listing for Replica M wheels. Did someone make this style as a replica to the original? Looks almost real with emblem and all. 18" wheels staggered set. I don't know the offset yet. I got an email reply that they are still available.

Replicas were made. They tended to be REALLY heavy...

those honestly look very authentic. id check them out and look on the back for clues, those are quite valuable, and i'd like to see them on a sixer for shit n giggles

What would I be looking for on the back?

probably a part number, some sort of bmw or german stamp. go on the e39 m forum and ask what the back of their m wheels say

There are alot of companies that make those rep wheels, especially the e39 m5 style... i know because thats what I was planning on getting before i jumped on the wheels that I currently have.
There is a company somewhat local to me that manufactures replica wheels and offer these wheels as well, they look to be a good set.

anyhow, like Lee said, the reps either tend to be heavy, or lighter and not forged. If I were still on the hunt for reps I would look at the heavier ones, as it seems the lighter unforged wheels have a tendency to bend and crack alot easier, that might not be an issue where you live, but up here in Michigan, if you have a cheap set of wheels, they wont last too long at all..
