A little boxy for me, but I'd love to polish and wax it and make it pretty. Italian red single stage paint is

More than likely, the motor and electrics of an Italian car will make you :bawling

Pretty neat, but I hear those old Maser's are a real handful if you drive them a lot, lots of maintenance.

Looks like a buick unfortunately. The sebring, mexico, and 3500GT are good looking cars.

I think it's hot. The middle section is very Ferrari 400/412'ish (in a good way). The rear end has it's own character with that thick chrome strip. The somewhat nonsensical gauge/warning light arrangement only adds to the appeal. Seriously, the "Stop Brake Failure" lamp sounds more like a slogan and not a warning. Overall looks like a larger and less ugly Biturbo, makes me wish this model had succeeded instead of that one.

I also see a lot of similarities to the Fiat 130 Coupé

the front end gives me a ford maverick vibe.

Delicate engines, try servicing or getting parts for that. Not a daily driver.

Every serious car guy needs at least one Italian car in their life!
From that part of California, the body would probably be mostly free of corrossion and since its a Maser, the transmission/rear end would need attention. The engine is probably OK, and the electrics will try your patience.
It will run smoother at 100 than it does at 10.
And you do not want to die with money in the bank, so why not? :)
