No. The timing cover stays. You need to remove the crank flange after the damper is taken off. Lock the flywheel first by inserting a 1/4" drift on the hole below the starter at No. 1 piston TDC.

a penguin was driving along in his m5.....when a nasty smell came through the air vents,
so he drove it to the nearest garage,
he told mister polarbear what happened....polarbear said to penguin "leave it with me for an hour and ill sort it"
penguin walks into town while his m5 is getting fixed....
20 mins later he gets a phone call to come and pick his car up....
on his way back to the garage he passes a icecream truck....by the time he gets to the garage hes covered in icecream.....
penguin said "what was wrong?"
polarbear replys "blown a seal"
penguin-"no! its icecream"
