just bought a 91 535I. Changed battery and radio code will not work for the car. Is there a special thing u have to do besides the code

There's a limit to how many times you can try the code before the car makes you wait for a while - IIRC, it's five tries and then you have to wait for at least 30 minutes. Maybe disconnecting the battery again would start the process over.

You have to leave the key in the acc position for an hour iirc.

Yeah have had to do the procedure a few times now. It's one hour, but just to account for its clock being different than mine I usually wait 1.5 hours. Code has always worked after that.
