This is off a 95 M-sport, but it doesn't fit on your 95 540? Wouldn't they have the same splines?

It fits but '95 E34s have a different horn setup. So the horn wouldn't work if he put it on, unless he scavenged a part from an older car. He can do it...I bet he'd figure it out if he disassembled both. MacR got it to work on my '95.

AH. I think I like this a bit more than the M3 wheel. Is it smaller than the bus wheel on the 540? The one thing I like better about mine is the white and blue roundel that I don't see in any other wheels out there.

The 95 cars have a different slip ring. This would work on the 94 or older cars.
MacR has not gotten back with me about trying to make this work so I have decided to sell it since I really need some other parts anyway.

Too bad, but I'd be in the same boat.

I cant find it right now but I know there is a DIY on how to install this wheel on the e34 540i. I swear i have it bookmarked but I can not find it. It is worth a shot if you have the time as it is a truly good looking wheel.

I'm not real sure this will work since I'm going the other direction with the install. I have a newer slip ring setup and trying to install an older style slip ring steering wheel to my newer plugs. Maybe I'm wrong, if so let me know becasue it looks a little confusing to me.

I am also wondering if this will work on my 1991 535i? Seems like these come up pretty often and would love to swap out my stock wheel.

Just check the slip ring part numbers on real OEM.

According to realOEM, my slip ring was the same one used on cars until the end of 1993. But the slip ring is different than the M Tech steering wheel. After reading a post from a couple of weeks ago. A guy with a 1991 M5 said he used this steering wheel, but he just switched out the slip rings so that it would work.

As long as you do it right with no SRS waring or faulty airbag deploy.
I have a guy that is willing to buy it but I have to get him a shipping quote first. Fyi..
