That Fly,

Try calling up TWM Induction as I believe they have a kit that can be sized for any of the E36 6 cylinder displacements.

ITBs:

Look completely awesome.

Sound great.

Are overpriced, especially since they don't give you much performance gains, at least on these engines.

Do you think your car is slow due to poor intake flow?

Hmm, the company that offered to build mine wanted 2k a set.

That was a bolt on, ready to go kit with everything including a CSL style airbox.

+ 9hp up to 5000 rpms, and +37hp at 8000 RPMs. Add some nasty sunbelt cams or if your streetin some shricks and its game over.

I LOVE ITBs. Call them overpriced, but remember what you drive.

exactly. Wouldn't the benefits be even greater for those who are FI. Cause my intentions where to do all other possible mods before going FI and then having a killer set up.

theres really not much of a point in ITB's unless your doing a full drive by wire engine and computer system.. it would just be 6 small throttle bodies opening and closing at the same rate, instead of one much bigger one. Want better flow? Just go F/I. probably be pretty close to the same price as ever getting that to work like you want it.

ITBs can help immensely when an overly aggressive set of cams are installed, as each cylinder pulls its own air instead of from a plenum. The ITBs are also cable driven but can be put on an electric system if need be. Linkage, just like a regular butterfly, actuates the ITBs in sync. Tuning will help with the best gains, but you should really get an aggressive set of cams, exhaust system redone for better flow, some larger injectors to compensate for the extra mixture, and a much larger maf to hook up to a large plenum to help with the tune.
