Which one is better and why? What are the cons each one has? Just looking for some opinions. Thanks.

I vote for B&B for the nice deep throaty sound.
pros: perfect fit, light, quiet on the highway
cons: drone at 1800-2300rpm (i've gotten used to it...took a few months)

I would choose neither. I would choose the Taiwan Special Exhaust (TSE)... ;)

There was a scientific comparison done on this:here (http://www.eurospeedperformance.com/Articles/exhaustdynox.htm) .

Well, my favorite is the System U exhaust. Although u did not put that as a choice I chose the louder of the two because that is what I like. It seems like there are two fundamental types of exhausts. One is quiet stock sounding with good performance gains and one is quite a bit louder than stock and it also has good performance. Honestly, I doubt there will be any more than + / - 2 or 3RWHP between the top contenders for exhaust, so it all comes down to personal sound preference. If your getting an exhaust for power gains, you should not be getting one at all. I prefer loud, and others prefer closer to stock sounding. I have grown to dislike the "Which exhaust is better?" question because it is practically the same as asking the question "Rap or Rock?". All based on personal preference. lol... Ya, and sadly in this day in age, we get more heated up over exhausts than religion or politics. And that makes me laugh!

HP gains for cat-back exhausts are going to be pretty much the same no matter what you chose. So it comes down to niose level when chosing an exhaust. The B&B is well known to be one of, if not the loudest bolt-on exhausts you can put on an E36 M3. The AA is known to be one of the quietest and best fitting. You can't go wrong with the AA (no drowning either), it fits perfectly and is not really loud, HP gains are 4-6 whp. The B&B, will make your car sound faster than it really is. Not sure about the present B&B, but when they first came out they were rusting out at the hangers.
If you want loud, then get either the UUC or the EISENMANN, The Eisenmann is REALLY loud and factory looking, but it cost $800+ for the exhaust and added pipes, plus the welding that is needed. Good luck.
Why ///M? Why Not!

Weird comparison....opposite ends of the spectrum. Hp and Tq gains are minimal and about the same with both. Quality is also very close. So it all comes down to sound. AA is quiet low, loud up top at WOT. B&B is loud low and evens out at about 4K for the rest of the rev range. So the question is, do you want to be loud all the time (B&B) or loud at WOT (AA)? However, exhaust is all preference with regards to sound loudness and quality. What someone likes, somebody else may hate and vice-versa. So, I say get what you like for sound and go with it. Just my opinion.
Good Luck,
Dan
I have a Triflow DTM so it must be the best :D

Thanks for the comparisons. I like the AA Exhaust and its only $600. That's $114 cheaper than the B&B. But money is no problem between these two exhausts since they are both fairly low priced. I will probaly go with AA.

My B&B is pretty loud. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who leaves their subdivision early in the morning. The neighbors will be pissed :)
My wife doesn't appreciate it much either.
Haven't lived with an AA.
The triflow tips are very nice IMO, and it sounds by far the best. Its loud, but its not mozart loud, its a deeper more refined note (i've had both)

i have the DTM tip B&B, you can easily get rid of the 2-3 K drone by jus putting in the baffles( B&B did it for me free). i dont know if i just got used to my B&B(ive had it for almost 6 yrs), but its not loud at all.

If I were to post pics of my muffler, could you guys ID it? I have no idea, it may be a B&B with dual rounds, is really loud and boomy from 1400-2000RPMs, and is not too loud every where else.

I have had my AA Gen III since June (~7000 miles) and I like it but sometimes it can get too loud for me. I like loud exhaust but not on my car. I think they both sound great tho. But the AA is quieter for me so i won't get annoyed too often. The AA gets louder after long drives especially on hot days. It gets really deep. No droning at all and sounds awesome at WOT.

The purpose of their article is to illustrate that there is not a big difference between each exhaust, and never use someone else’s insults to insult them, let’s be original if nothing else.

Not sure if this is relevant but Jesus uses AA and Alah uses UUC....
