check cil lev message.

the message check cil lev comes up on the dash when i turn my engine off. it also smokes real bad upon start up and then it goes away. i changed valve cover gaskets and coils and spark plugs. still happens. sometimes theres a loud howl sound from the engine while in idle. dont know what the H** is going on. I also just changed the oil and there was quite a bit that looked to be leaking. can oil leak from the ccv. it has 140 on it. should i tackle the head gaskets. someone please help.

the howling is probably from the Oil seperator at the back of the intake manifold. Check your main crank pulley seal(front). You could be leaking oil from ther also.

you have a bad osv, when these go bad they suck oil from the crankcase. replace it and go from there. BMW headgaskets are pretty good.
