540i Battery woes [Archive] - Bimmerforums

Hi all,

New to forum.
Have '99 540i and have just replaced battery. Have noted a leakage of what I suspect to be battery acid but am not sure. If it is why is it appearing now and did not show up before with old battery?
If it is, how to correct situation? Can the alternator be producing to much juice? Indicator on dash does not register any battery problems.
Any help would be appreciated.

what battery did you replace it with?

stock?

Hi,

Yes I replaced it with stock. Or so they told me. It was about an inch longer than the original. It was fun installing in fender well.
