This is a great video. Sounds great especially around 6k or so when the freakin' SEMI TRUCK TURBO FINALLY SCREAMS AND SPOOLS!
Well, it may not be a semi-truck turbo really, but it does look like it could accidently digest birds...

Cool? Yes.
Useful in any real-world scenario? Probably not.

I predict lots of broken pieces in the driveline.

If a formula1 car can manage.

Then so can anyone else with the right amount of money.

... That's grotesquely powerful. Sickening. Disgusting. Revolting. And I want one.

The turbo on my 425HP C-12 Cat has a 5" exhaust and a 6" intake, must be a plumbing nightmare to fit under the hood.

I just noticed you can get some interesting data from the dyno screen on that last run. I noticed that you don't even hear the turbine until after 4k...
I also noticed (check it for yourself!) the dyno speedometer read 89 when the run started, then rocketed to 165mph in about 4.5 seconds.

Can you imagine leaving the line in this car? You'd probably get taken by about a length or two, then the turbine would spool, and you'd slingshot by. Just think about locking in second gear at the red line in this thing, probably get scratches through at least 3rd...

So, who is ready to do this to their 328? I have a spare 70mm T4 turbo from a supra is anyone is interested...

I've kinda been wondering about situations like this. I always hear people boosting their E36 to 300 or 500 horsepower. The thing I've never heard mentioned is whether or not the stock transmission can take it. Is it common to stay with the stock ZF tranny?

Just to point out that isn't related to road speed directly, that's moving the dynomometer's flywheel / resistance setup. Which I have no clue how it's calibrated, but it isn't directly related to the weight and areodynamics of the car being tested, I wouldn't think.

Not to take anything away from the SICK power he's got going there.:woot:
