I went to Montgomery Motorsports Park. Had a blast! :alright
I don't know what to think of my times tho. Suggestions?

14.3 @ 98 2.1 60' R/T .031

99 M3, approx 3224lb, Street tires (Nitto Invo), full 3" exhaust, CAI, M50 mani, 150K on the engine and original clutch (probably the biggest problem, it was slipping bad)

You should be running mid 13's but with that clutch your time really isn't too bad.

because you mention that the clutch was slipping the results have little value in my opinion but you did strike some curiosity on my part just to how much is being left on the plate.
considering you come a road course background(guessing by the sig) im glad you were able to have some fun in a straight line.

98mph trap, ah no. thats a 13.9 with a 1.9 60(badass on street tires). i trapped 2mph lower and ran a 14.6 with a 2.2 60.

you need to trap atleast 100-102 to hit mid 13's.

You are correct about needing to run 100+ mph to run mid 13's but I am willing to bet that his car can do just that when he gets a replacement clutch in there.

When I first got my Coupe I went to the track and couldn't turn anything better than a 14.2@98mph because my clutch was slipping pretty bad. I changed clutch out with the an OEM replacement and went back to the track and ran a 13.61@100mph. I was completely stock and changed nothing but the clutch and it was just a new stock clutch that I put in so the OP has a very good chance of trapping 100+mph and running in the 13's IMHO.

I like the sound of that. I'm saving the money up for the new clutch. Since I'm a silly college student I have a couple extra pounds of ballast in my trunk. :rolleyes
I can get the cars weight down around 3100 or less I believe. (I cant remember its been so long :( )

Don't try to go big on the clutch if you don't plan on going FI in the near future. The OEM clutch does the job just fine and you won't spend much money on it.

Agreed. 150K and mine is still perfect for the street! I do want to replace it for Autocrossing and the occasional time to the strip with friends. I plan to get a light weight flywheel so why not throw a fresh clutch in when I upgrade. Ill have the original for a spare.
