Hoosier rains on stock E46 rims..what size will fit?

Possibly a newb type question,,, but I have a set of stock 18 inch E46 rims that I was going to use to put a set of Hoosier Radial Wet rain tires on. Will a 245/40/18 fit? The rims are off of either an 01-03 model I believe.....

18,s not 17,s? a 8 inch wide tire will accept a Hoosier 245/40/18 the Hoosiers come up a lot wider than normal street tire of similar widths so keep that in mind.

Thanks Carl... yes these are the 18's... My tire installer could not get the 245/35/18 hoosiers to fit for some reason... Hoping the 245/40/18 will be a better fit...
