I'm pretty sure the rice exhaust and tow-hitch won't make it to production:nono

this front end is so damn much better, espcially w/ all the shiny shit gone (black grills, headlights)...

If BMW could get the ass to match the face, they'd have a "10", IMO.

I've kinda let the 7 grow on me. The exterior doesn't bother me so much anymore. Its the idiotic shifter thingy that bothers me now.

Can't please everyone.
Either way, I'll never purchase such a large sedan.

I like that front a LOT better, to me one of bmw's most famous features is the nose/headlights/grill atleast this one looks more true to it's roots.

but then there's the back...I don't think they can "dress" that one up? Maybe a bigger trailer hitch/exhaust could help?

There is a 99.99999999% probability that the black grills won't stay black and that the headlights won't be covered with black GTS style headlight covers. They're just masking the facelifted areas so that automotive journalists don't go posting pics of it on the web before the official unveiling.

Yeah exactly. Wait till you see it without camouflage (sp).. I'd also guees that the grill and the lights will be silver and shiny once again.
It looks to me like they didn't fix the problem. The front was never great, but the rear end and the trunk are the real problems IMHO. If they didn't change those, what's the point of the change.
Oh, don't know about the hitch but the exhaust is like that for emission testing and calibration. I have a friend who works for Ford in the calibration area, and he showed me a new GT 40 with a exhaust like that last time I was in Detroit...

Did they get rid of that damn I-Drive system? I think that was so damn annoying,.,., I'd rather have the GPS/Radio system found in 3er and 5ers - not some flimsy toilet flusher-knob ~ ala track-ball mouse. :az:

The nose was never the real problem...
It was always the trunk and stupid i-drive (which GT should be sueing BMW for using that name anyway)

I thought they did. BMW introduced it right around the time they filed Chapt. 11, so who knows what really happened.

'They' meaning 'GT Bicycles', which is who lmtdslip was referring to. They had bikes called i-drive for several years before BMW introduced their i-drive.

It's really hard to tell what they've done with all the tape around the lights. I'm guessing they moved the blinker strip from the top to the bottom. To me, none of the new BMWs seem timeless, just in a time they were styled by the wrong person.

Volvo?.....I don't think so.:nono Volvo's front end is very low, look for any volvo on the street, and you'll see scrached up bumpers.

So you guys like the headlight cover style? I doubt that will ever come like that.
The 3-Hatchback in Europe had them, we never got them. I don't mind.
