Hello everyone,

I've done a search, but haven't found much info on these tires and am curious what people think of these for an E36 M3 in the stock sizes. I have no-good Falken all-seasons that came with the car that still have plenty of tread left, but I found a great deal on the Hankooks that I would keep in my garage until I needed them.

The car will be driven 90% of the time in May-August because I will be away at school other than that, so I'm not too worried about winter traction. I will be doing at least 3 or 4 HPDEs each year and drive somewhat aggressively on the street. I should also include that I am a novice at the track. I only had a chance to do one HPDE last year, but I'm hooked, and plan to get much more invovled.

I'm looking for a grippy, moderately priced street tire that does well in the rain, and this seems to fit the bill. My only concern is the low treadwear rating...I'm wondering if they will burn off in one summer of driving.

So what does everyone think?

Thanks,
Derek

Well since they are like 84 bucks a piece atm I dont think you can do any better than that for the price. If you can afford it get the star specs because they are better in every aspect. Otherwise for about half the price for a set of 4 the rs2's are hard to beat for your application.

Another thing I'm concerned with is these being unpredictable at the limit. As I already stated, do you think that these would be alright for me, or be too sticky?

These are def not too sticky. Any street tire will give you enough feedback and warning. Plus last thing you want to do is do a driving event on crap all season tires.

Thanks for your help. I'm obviously still learning, but after that one day with the all seasons I knew they were no good.

Picked these up for $365 shipped. Seems like a great deal to me.

Where did you get them? I'm assuming you got 245/40/17 in the back? I have these tires but am replacing the rears because in a month they got torn up but they are covered by warranty. I'm guessing I hit a patch of road that just shredded them, otherwise they are great and have unbelievable grip for the money.
