View Full Version : Anyone interrested in a reasonably priced gtr hood?

I just got done talking to one of the forum vendors and If i can find 5 people, one of which just needs to be able to let them borrow their hood for a mold in the los Angeles area. They will build a gtr hood, reasonably priced and will work with all oem hardware. From looking at their other products their prices seem to be really great and the fitment good also. Heres some examples of their other work.

I would be more interested in a power dome hood. though I have no money for anything :(

I looked at them before i found out about these guys. My problem is i couldnt come up with 1800 dollars for just the hood. They look really nice tho :)

Maybee they can shed some light but im guessing the quality and price will reflect the e36 ones from the thread link I put up. Possibly a little more cuz it is a bigger hood but I cant really say because its not my company. Everything ive seen them offer so far has been supprisingly priced compared to the competition thats why I wanted to see if we could maybee make it happen opposed to spending a ton of money on a vorsteiner one (because my oem hood is messed up and ive always wanted a gtr hood). Ill p/m them and see if they can give me an idea.

Definatly understandable, i just badly want vents for when i get my supercharger this upcoming summer. Id love to have the dome with the vents especially for the right price. I just p/m ed them so ill see what they say. Id definatly like to do business with them tho, all their communication is extremely fast and everything i saw so far has been good quality and at a good price. I guess well hafta see.

If you contact them you could possibly get a group buy on one of those also? I dont know if they could make it but theyre really nice and theyll tell you what they can and cant do and what they could help you with.

Unless we could find someone with a vorsteiner hood that would let them borrow it. If they made a mold off one it should be basically identical. And i mean even if theres subtle differences for an almost 1k price difference it may be worth it as long as fitment is spot on :dunno

Yea id say definatly p/m them and see what they can do. They need 5 people per type of hood but it looks like theres a ton of people who want powerdome so it looks like you have a good chance, your also close to them so id see what they can do theyre very helpful and willing to do almost anything it seems.

I am sure there will be some legal problems trying to replicate vorsteiners powerdome, but if it can be done for less than $700, i am down for it.

I say contact them, worst you can get is a no, and theyre really nice.

Well after the 5 people are had which it looks like its taking a little time they said itll take 2-3 weeks to make and we also hafta find someone to let them borrow an oem hood to use as a mold so it looks like ull have some time

You guys r misreading the title, OP is trying to get a GTR vented hood, not just cf oem style hood
