View Full Version : ATTN: Stance guys- 17" BBS RS with DISH inside!

hexagone
09-29-2009, 07:47 PM
BBS RS 178
Size = 17x9.5 front 17x11 rear
Offset = 55mm all around (35mm with wider lips)
Lug spacing is 5x120.65mm (YES it is safe to run these on BMWs)
Center bore = 70.3 mm
Great condition.

Includes 6 lips. 4 standard 1" lips that make these into 9.5" wide as pictured. These RSs are unique as they utilize the 16" instar, versus the bigger 17" instar- making it appear as they have more dish... and we all like more dish!

PLUS! These include custom 2.5" wide lips from Just Matz in the UK to make the rears 11" wide and et35. sick ****.

The centers are in very good condition and wouldn't need to be redone. Same with the bolts- they are a darker color than stock (possibly powdercoated)... so resealing the wheels and running them as is would be very feasible. No bends/curbage/cracks as far as I could tell.

Price:

[$1400 SHIPPED] as is. Adapt them, rebuild them, stretch them, drop it- and be the talk of the damn town.

Similar e34 setup: 17x8.5 ET13, 17x10.5 ET38, also with the smaller instars... they tuck!:

And the wrong center bore for anything BMW.

Would these bolt up to an E36 M without poke with stock lips on? Very interested if they don't poke

Unless this is a typo.

This is not a typo, and noted just so people are aware.

HOWEVER- since they are ET55, people would have to run spacers. And with spacers- I would assume the issue of centerbore is addressed.

And I don't see a reason why 9.5" all around wouldn't fit on an e36 m3. I have all dimensions provided, some quick calculations would get you your answer. As I don't have an m3, I can't tell you- but all the info is there for you to make a sound judgement about fitment :)

I'll try to help.

Look at your current wheel setup, and see what the offset is, the width, and your backspacing.

Now- put those dimensions into the website below:

http://www.bigcustomwheels.com/info_specs.jsp

Then, put in the dimensions of the 9.5" wheel, with ET55. Start subtracting from the ET55 to take into consideration the spacer. So a 20mm spacer would make it et35- and so on. Below in the chart it will show you how much more poke, or less poke you'll have in relation to your stock setup. It's all pretty simple.

These would fit a BMW if you runs studs and a non-hubcentric spacer.

Center bore for all BMW's except e39's and maybe the new x5/x6's are 72.56, this is what e36 have. Most wheels need to have a rear offset of 40 in the rear and 3X in the front if it is lowered.

With 17x11 the fenders are going to need to rolled to hell and probably run a 225 or 245 (something with a lot of stretch).

Ya good luck to anyone who thinks they can get these on an e36 and actually drive down a road.

Damn I want these... would you be possibly interested in a trade for work equips 17x9.5 sqaure?

hexagone
10-11-2009, 07:31 PM
Sorry no trades.

As noted- stance guys probably would want them with the big back lip. I doubt anyone would rock these without having some minor (at minimum) fender work done.

Still offering them cheaper than most 17" RSs... they're also OBO.

HOLY GOD that white M3 gave me wood.

Throw em on with some spacers, cut out your fenders and rivet on some 240sx fenders. :)

bump for some nice wheels..

e36 people: if you had the centers drilled out on these, which shouldn't cost more than $75 for all 4, you could fit them on the rear with a decent bit of stretch. The red 540i pictured is mine, they are actually spaced out to 17x10.5 ET13 in that picture, but I did test fit them on an e36 @ 17x10.5 ET38 and they cleared on the inside with room to spare and manageable poke if you roll your fenders and run a little stretch.

I had three sets of e26s that I sold.

PM Derek 350i for motorsport wheels needs. He took my e26s and can make them all sorts of narrow or wide 17" applications.
