My rear brakes were replaced before my fronts. In every car that I have had the fronts always go before my rears. My car was at 28k. My SA said this was normal on the 3 series. Has this been the same for the rest of you?

Normal for these cars. My car says the rears are due in 4000 km, while the front have 15000 km left. I have about 45000 km on the odo now (which is ~28k miles). The traction control may have something to do with it possibly along with a programmed bias to the rear to improve stopping distances.

Keep in mind the RWD cars have an open diff. Primary drive is right rear I believe. Traction control throttles brakes to give traction to left rear when right rear is slipping. (Too bad BMW doesn't offer a posi rear.) This may be the reason your rears are wearing faster than the fronts.
