Hi all.
I currently lease a 2007 x3. It is an amazing trunk and I am loathe to part with it. But the lease is up in 2 months and the buyout is not favorable.
I have been offered the following by my local dealer(who I also leased the x3 from):
2009 335xdrive (dealer loaner car)
~9200 miles
Premium package, cold weather package, ipod/USB, satillite radio for 1 year, Auto trans.
Titanium Silver with Black interior.
I am told the car is in perfect condition.
Lease deal: $450/mo including tax. $2300 down which no security deposit.
3 yrs, 12k/yr.
So I am going to be giving in the X3 and forgo the last 2 months of my lease to get the 335.
The price of the new 335 leases are several hundred dollars more based on my research. I did have some concern over the millage on the car, and the fact that I may have to purchase tires for the car b4 the lease is up(which I didn't have to do for the x3- prob. saved me about a grand).
The car has a warranty up to 50k miles so everything should be covered.
Should I have any concern here with the millage? I have spoken to other non-affiliated BMW sales consultants and they have told me the deal is a steal and a no-brainer.
Thanks for all comments/insights!!

Personally I like the choice you are considering. I'm not a X3-kinda person but have enjoyed the 3-series sedans (last was a 2007 328xi and now have a 2009 335i). The monthly payment sounds great. I think you may find yourself buying tires around 30k miles (I had to do so with my 328xi). Being just shy of 10k miles and planning to put on 36k yourself still keeps you under the 50k factory warrantee. Congrats and good luck!

I'm glad it's going to be under warranty as I can only guess what those 9000 miles were like. Sounds like a good deal.

I just switched from X3 to 2009 328Xi. Have not regretted it. 3 -4 mpg better gas and much quieter, smoother and better handling.
The lease deal looks very attractive.

No sport package, but i did test drive an '09 328i with the sport package and it was quite nice.

That was my main trepidation on the deal. The price seems very good, prob. several hundred/mo. less that I could get a brand new '09. But 9k/miles in 8 mos. is alot.
Especially b/c I usually do about 11k for the entire year and really take good care of the vehicle.
I'll update later in the week. I am going to test drive/pick up the car tomorrow evening provided all is as stated. The salesman told me today the car was perfect-no issues with the body and the car has been checked out by the service team as a CPO would be checked. Plus I got my X3 from the same dealer so I trust them.

Generally, if it is a dealership-owned car, your warranty should start from the time you buy the car. You should confirm this with the dealer first. Unless it was privately purchased and then rented back to the dealer as a loaner your 50k mile warranty should start when you buy it this go until the car has 59k miles on it.
If it is a lease, who cares what the miles are on the car as long as you don't drive more miles than however many you are negotiating in the lease? If it is a lease you can just return it in the end. You'll be able to put 36k miles on top of the 9k already on the car.

Not really, but 9k loaner miles is a lot.
No sport package and auto trans = no for me.

It's a year old, it's not a lot. Was it a BMW owned car or a service loaner?
If it's a lease who really cares if it's not going to last...it's just got ot last the term.

Dealers around here flip their loaner cars every 3-5K Miles. BMWNA keeps their exec cars a little longer before they flip them, I believe. Just saw a transporter leaving BMW Financial's headquarters in Columbus, OH with a load of cars.

Unless the dealer is doing som special deal for you, the free Satellite radio is only good for 1 year from the original IN-SERVICE DATE. So if they put that car into loaner service in December of '08, then the free Satellite subscription runs out in December of this year (2 months from now).
9k miles in 8 months = 13,500 per year = not excessive.
Dealers around here keep loaners in service for 8-10k miles.

,,,,and when the Satellite subscription comes up for renewal, don't take the full-price renewal offer. Let it expire and sit tight for a week or two. You will get all kinds of special offers to continue the service at much lower costs. The longer you wait, the better the offer.

Hello Guys and Gals,
I just purchased my first BMW last night...an '09 335 which was a dealer car with roughly 10,000 miles on it. My question is this when it comes time to trade this car in can it still be a CPO car even though it had 10,000 miles at the time I purchased it? I thought I remember reading some place that in order for a car to be considered CPO it had to be a one owner vehicle. Does my vehicle fall into this category? If not, does it affect the trade in value when that time comes?
Thanks,
John

If I am reading your question correctly, yes. As I understand it this car would qualify as a CPO since the dealer never transferred ownership to anyone. I also bought a "new" '09 335i with xDrive that had around 6k on the odometer and he said mine would qualify. It was used by the service manager, but never sold to anyone. Got a great deal with most all options except Sport Package and the best car I ever owned.
