Anyone have a rough guess what it would cost to have the head rebuilt on an M30 with a new cam, and all other hardware? I would have the shop pull the head as well.

Thanks!

Why would you have them pull the head? it is not difficult to get it off.

I don't recommend having the shop do r&r. They charge book value for it, which is probably about 10 hours' worth of labor.

There's going to be a wide range of price depending on who works on it and what you want done to it. At the top would be someone on par with Metric Mechanic. At the bottom would be one of your local machine shops that does chevys and neons all day long.

If money is an issue, it's not real hard to find a good used low-miles M30 head and just put it on after a checking it out.
