I posted this in my intro thread, but as it concerns just this year I figured I'd make a seperate post for it....

This is a page from the E90's manual from BMWUSA. The highlighted section in red describes how to access a menu that seems to control a lot of the cars functions; mirror programing, seat memory, door locks, lights, all kinds of things. When I go through the steps and try to get to the menu, no joy.

The steps I am taking are:

1) Stand outside the car with the car locked.
2)Unlock the car with the fob
3)Sit in the car.

From here I have tried several different ways to get into it either;

A) No fob in the dash try to access the menu = no joy
B) Fob in dash with no other button pushed = no joy
C) Fob in dash then Start button pushed (no clutch in) = no joy
D) Starting the car and trying to access the menu = no joy
E) Holding the fob near the dash (when I do this a key pops up in the dash, but it is missing check mark shown in the picture) = no joy

I have the idrive system, and thought the function might be within that, and most seem to be. However, I have the adaptive mirrors or whatever you call them that fold up and I cant seem where to program that (they just fold up randomly it seems when the car is parked).

Any ideas or can point me in the right direction?

So far I've been told the lock menu is not available on the MY06, roger.

However I notice that sometimes after I lock the car, the mirrors fold up, and sometimes they dont. I've noticed primarly, after I've parked the car, locked it, and then wash it. Maybe a rain sensor?

If not, is there a way to access the mirror memory settings via idrive that I cannot seem to find?
