Anybody use gasoline and also oil/crankcase additives such as: Lucas, Gum-out, Techron, Seafoam etc.??

These products claim to clean injectors, clean carbon deposits, and what not. Wouldn't they leave deposits in your oil after it's burned?

I've tried Lucas and DuraLube, but I don't really notice a change--

BUT my '92 525i runs great though for having 221,000 miles and rollin', so who knows.

I also heard Lubro-Moly products are made for BMWs. Anyways, lemme know what's good people.

Most gasoline additives are complete BS and or just transmission fluid.

I use bg products. I just did the 109 engine flush and i run the 44k in my tank. Their moa product is for your oil. They are good products. I just changed my injectors this morning and ran my borescope in to check the valves and they look brand new.

They have an atc product that you put in your transmission. My transmission vendor tells me it is good stuff.

Techron is the best

BG products, huh? Interesting.. Do these products have to be ordered or would an Autozone or Checkers have it? Thanks for the advice, by the way.

A week before an oil change I put a small can of Seafoam in the oil. I do a hotsoak with seafoam right before every other oil change (10,000 miles) After an oil change I use RESTORE.

I use Lucus "tune up in a bottle" in the gas ocasionaly, in other cars I have had that stuff totally eliminate lifter noise so its gotta be helping somehow, plus its $10 for a big jug that has like 20 treatments, then they charge $4 for a little 1 time use bottle :confused

Also I keep my throttle body clean with B12.

I've heard that putting kerosene in the engine oil right before a change cleans a lot out...

I use B12 all the time as a gas additive. I would choose it over Seafoam, according to what I've heard.

Oh yea I've used b12 in the gas before to, probably helps clean the injectors more than lucus but the lucus lubricates the valves better.

I've only used lubro moly. Ventil sauber and jectron. Ventil sauber cleans the valves and any deposits as the jectron cleans the fuels injectors. Sorta helps mpg as well. Works the best. But the choice is up to you.

I've heard great things about Lubro Moly. My friend had a Mercury Sable with some weird knocking from the valves or crank and it entirely disappeared after using Moly.
