P (Park) Light on gear lever stays on

I did a quick search, but came up empty so I figured I'd ask this now.

When I put my gear selector to P (Park), turn off the car, and lock it I noticed that the orange light next to the P on the gear shift stays on. Is this normal? Perhaps it turns off after 15 minutes and I never checked. I just don't remember seeing this during the first 2 months I've had the car.

I noticed that as well. I wonder if it's some sort of timer that also turns off power to any accessories or lights if you left them on?

I believe accessories yes, lights no. Not 100% sure though.

I noticed the same thing on my car. It had me worried at first because I thought there was a possible electrical problem, but it went out after I checked on it (about 20 min after I parked).

These cars do all kinds of weird things when you shut them down. Mine has motors and all kinds of stuff going on all the time. I am sure that is one of the reasons the battery is so large. Lots of stuff going on all the time.

Read the entire thread, we just said it is normal and goes out after 16 minutes.

Yes sir : - ). Confirmed. went out after around 20 or so minutes. My baby is sound asleep.
